General Rules and Terms and Conditions – BBC Production Music ‘100th Anniversary of Daventry Transmitter”Webinar
1. The Competition will be communicated by Universal Publishing Production Music Limited (“Promoter”) via a private email circulation (the “Competition Email”) to the attendees (“Attendees”) of the BBC Production Music Uncovered Webinar taking place at 15.00-15:30 hours on 14th August 2025(the “Webinar”). All Attendees of the Webinar will be automatically entered into the Competition (“Eligible Entrants”).
2. Opening date for entries is 12.00 on 01st August 2025. Closing date for entries is 14:00 on 14th August 2025.
3. The Competition is open to all citizens of the UK of 18 years of age and over, who is an Attendee of the Webinar. The Competition is open to all BBC Radio, Audio and Sound employees of the British Broadcasting Corporation, its associated, affiliated or subsidiary companies. The Competition is not open to employees of the Promoter and its associated, affiliated or subsidiary companies, and their families or agents.
4. Entry limited to one per person.
5. No purchase is necessary but entrants should be aware that they may be subject to local call charges, depending on their own individual arrangements for Internet access.
6. SELECTION: Entrants to the Competition must follow any instructions contained in the Competition Email and attend the Webinar that will take place on 01st August 2025 at 12.00. All Eligible Entrants will be entered into the Competition and one(1) prize winner will be selected at random at the end of the Webinar among the Eligible Entrants which have attended the Webinar. An Eligible Entrant must be an individual resident in the UK, and a Registered Client of the Promoter. The details provided by the Eligible Entrant in their entry will be the identity of the Eligible Entrant and, if selected for the Prize (as defined in clause 9 below) the identity of the Winner of the Competition. Promoter reserves the right to reject any entry and/or refuse any Winners of the Prize and/ or to require entrants to provide proof of their age.
7. Promoter will not be liable for any failure of receipt of entries. Promoter will not be liable for technical, hardware, or software failures of any kind or lost or unavailable network connections which may limit or prohibit an Eligible Entrant’s ability to participate in the Competition. Promoter shall not be liable for any loss or damage incurred as a result of this Competition including without limitation any loss caused by any errors or changes made by third party providers. Nothing in these terms and conditions shall limit Promoter’s liability for death or personal injury caused by their employees or agents’ negligence or for fraud.
8. By entering, Eligible Entrants to the Competition and the Winner agrees to release and hold harmless the Promoter their parents, subsidiaries and affiliated entities, directors, officers, employees, attorneys, agents and representatives from any damage, injury, death, loss, claim, action, demand or other liability that may arise from their acceptance and/or use of the Prize or their participation in this Competition or from any misuse or malfunction of the Prize or any alternate prize awarded (if applicable).
9. Promoter reserves the right, with or without cause, to exclude Eligible Entrants and/or Winners and withhold prizes for violating any of these General Rules and the Terms and Conditions and for reasons of obscenity, defamation and/or invasion of privacy. Promoter reserves the right to amend these General Rules. Any amendments will be published on the Competition Email. The Promoter’s decision on the Winners is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
10. Prize:

11. Each Prize, at the Promoter’s discretion, will be either (i) delivered in person by an employee of the Promoter, (ii) delivered by post to the Winners (iii) delivered by email to the Winners(if applicable)or (iv) delivered by a third party to the Winners on behalf of the Promoter. In the event that the Promoter is unable to arrange for delivery of the Prize or its equivalent to the Winner, the Promoter shall use its reasonable efforts to provide the Winner with a material equivalent of the Prize for delivery to the Winner. The Winners may be required to show ID upon delivery of the Prize in accordance with the above.
12. One(1) Winner of the Competition will be drawn from the pool of Eligible Entrants at 15.30 hours on 14th August 2025. All reasonable endeavours will be made to contact the Winner within 48 hours of selection. If a Winner cannot be contacted within 48 hours on their email address, phone number or social media handle supplied by the Eligible Entrant with their entry, the Promoter reserves the right to select another Eligible Entrant.
13. There is one(1) Prize maximum to be won by one(1) Winner maximum in the Competition, there is no other alternative to the Prize stated and the Prize is not transferable and no part or parts of the Prize may be substituted for other benefits, cash, items or additions.
14. Uses of personal data received by Promoter in the course of the Competition are subject to the privacy policy http://www.umusic.co.uk/privacy.html. The Winner’s name may be published on the Promoter’s verified social media accounts and/or via email a private email circulation to the Promoter’s existing Registered Client database.
15. By entering the Competition all Eligible Entrants are deemed to have accepted and be bound by these General Rules.
16. Promoter reserves the right at any time to cancel, modify or supersede the Competition (including altering Prizes) if, in our sole discretion, a Competition is not capable of being conducted as specified.
17. If any of these clauses should be determined to be illegal, invalid or otherwise unenforceable then it shall be severed and deleted from these terms and conditions and the remaining clauses shall survive and remain in full force and effect.
18. These terms and conditions shall be governed by English law and the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
19. The promoter of this Competition is Universal Publishing Production Music Limited, a company registered in England and Wales with number [01568581].
Warranty
The Website and the information are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis and Universal Production Music makes no warranties or representations, whether express or implied, in relation to the information or the Website, including but not limited to implied warranties or conditions of completeness, accuracy, satisfactory quality and fitness for a particular purpose.
Liability
The User agrees that, except for death and personal injury arising from the negligence of Universal Production Music, Universal Production Music shall not be liable in contract, tort, negligence, statutory duty or otherwise, for any loss or damage whatsoever arising from or in any way connected with this contract, including without limitation, damage for loss of business, loss of profits, business interruption, loss of business information, or any other pecuniary loss (even where Universal Production Music has been advised of the possibility of such loss or damage).
Rights Granted/Rights Reserved
Universal Production Music provides the Web site to the User solely for the business purposes of the User and the User may licence the relevant production music in accordance with the procedure set out on the Website. The Website may not be used for any other purpose, including but not limited to, publication, reproduction, or transmission of any production music without the express written permission of Universal Production Music.
The Website
The User acknowledges:
(a) that it is technically impossible to provide the Website free of faults and that Universal Production Music does not undertake to do so;
(b) that faults may lead to temporary unavailability of the Website; and
(c) that the operation of the Website may be adversely affected by conditions and performances outside Universal Production Music's control, including without limitation, transmission and telecommunications links between Universal Production Music and Users, between different parts of Universal Production Music, and between Universal Production Music and other systems and networks.
Use Of The Website
The User undertakes:-
(a) that it shall not make any use of the Website such that the whole or part of the Website is interrupted, damaged, rendered less efficient, or the effectiveness or functionality of the Website is in any way impaired;
(b) not to use the Website for the transmission or posting of any computer viruses or any material which is defamatory, offensive or of an obscene or menacing character, or in such a way as to cause annoyance, inconvenience or needless anxiety;
(c) not to use the Website in a manner which constitutes a violation or infringement of any person, firm or company (including but not limited to rights of copyright or confidentiality);
(d) that it shall not use the Website to transmit any material for the purposes of publicity, promotion and/or advertising without the prior written consent of Universal Production Music; and
(e) that in the event that it has any right, claim or action against any other user arising out of the use of the Website then it shall pursue such right, claim or action independently of, and without recourse to Universal Production Music.
Intellectual Property
The User acknowledges that all copyright, trade marks and all other intellectual property rights in Universal Production Music's production music shall remain vested in Universal Production Music.
Suspension And Termination
Universal Production Music shall have the right to immediately terminate this agreement and/or suspend the Website if the User commits a breach of the Terms and Conditions.
Changes To The Terms And Conditions
Universal Production Music reserves the right to change these terms and conditions from time to time, and the User's continued use of the Website following of such change shall be deemed to be the User's acceptance of any such change. It is the User's responsibility to check this file regularly to determine whether this privacy policy has been changed. If the User does not agree to any change to the terms and conditions of this privacy policy then the User must immediately stop using the Website.
Severability
Each provision of this privacy policy excluding or limiting liability shall be construed separately, applying and surviving even if for any reason one or other of those provisions is held to be inapplicable or unenforceable in any circumstances and shall remain in force notwithstanding the termination of this privacy policy howsoever occasioned.
No Waiver
No waiver by Universal Production Music shall be construed as a waiver of any preceding or succeeding breach of any provision.
Choice Of Law
This privacy policy shall be governed by English law and the parties hereby irrecoverably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts.
